(Honest, we didn't make these up!)

I have used my travel tent for years, giving me total peace of mind  wherever I sleep. After finding tarantulas in my room while on a trip  to the rain forest of Guatemala, I swore that I would never travel  without a tent to sleep in. Finding your travel tent has allowed me  to continue traveling to remote areas without fear. On a trip to  Belize I could have sold my tent for a million dollars to all the honeymoon couples at our lodge who found tarantulas hiding in the thatched roofs of their rooms. Next week I am off to Chetumal, Mexico and will take my tent with me...in my carry-on bag!! Not taking any chances of losing it. It really is the most important thing I am taking with me! Thanks again for your incredible products. Michele Modglin

I had a wonderful time using your TRAVEL TENT in Niger and Mali. It was just as you had said... that I would feel so secure and comfortable knowing that nothing could crawl on me or bite me... and with that I slept wonderfully well, even better than in the States! Thanx,

Just thought you'd like to know the Travel Tents we ordered survived our five kids beautifully for the seven months we were in W. Africa!  That is no small feat (surviving our kids-not being in Africa!)!  All the other missionaries were jealous even though the Bible says not to covet thy neighbor's Travel Tents!  We ended up selling ours to another family when we left but are placing an order today to replace them for next time!  Blessings, Amy Rodgers

Dear LR,
As a photographer I travel in Asia every year. Here is a photo of your Travel Tents hard at work in Laos.

Dear Friends at Long Road,
I ordered two of your mosquito nets for a 5 week trip to various parts of India. I've been there many times but never with this much travel planned so a good net seems like a good idea! Well your Travel Tent was way beyond my dreams and hopes. The other Travel Tent was used by a seasoned world traveler who exclaimed to me after the first night in it, "I'm taking this with me everywhere! I hate the feel of some kind of crawling thing on me and this is the best protection I've ever used!" Seeing as how he is over 6 feet tall the extension at the bottom helped a lot also. Thanks again.

Dear Long Road,

I have received the travel tent and it is beyond expectations, it is of outstanding design. The internal space is more than adequate, it's assembly is simple, and the poles are of plentiful strength and flexibility. It will fulfill my needs exactly. And hopefully keep me bite free and sleeping sound on my travels.

Dear Longroad,

I thought you might like to see a photo of your Skeeter Defeater in a rather dumpy, buggy hotel in a place called Gulbarga, India. In a place like this, it really gave us peace of mind. We felt "brilliant" for having them. But really, you are the ones who are brilliant for making them!! Just bought a Travel Tent because the idea of a floor seems to give it more flexibility.

Thanks for your great designs/engineering!

Dear Long Road,

I just got back from the jungles and mountains of eastern Bolivia and I just wanted to tell you that I loved your travel tent.  As a matter of fact, it probably saved my life...which will lead me to a suggestion for your web site.

There is one nasty disease carrier and its disease that you might consider emphasizing more on your parasite/diseases list, the Reduvid beetle and Chagas' Disease (also called American Trypanosomiasis). These insects are also called Kissing Beetles for their habit of sucking blood out of their human hosts from the soft tissue near the mouth.

Trypanosoma cruzi is the actual name of the parasite which lives in the gut of the beetle and is passed on to humans by the beetle pooping on its host. As the beetle feeds on blood, it, at the same time, defecates the parasite onto the skin.  From the skin, the parasite enters the host where it will go undetected in the smooth muscle tissue (often the heart) until the victim has a heart attack or some other near debilitating condition. The disease is untreatable and has already infected some 16-18 million people.  Another 90 million people living in Central and South America are at risk for the disease.

In the region where I lived and worked (I'm a cultural anthropologist), this nasty critter was everywhere (including living in my own thatch roof and adobe walls) and about 98% of all adults in the region tested positive for the Chagas' parasite.  While I was there, at least three Americans in the Peace Corps tested positive for Chagas' and were sent back home for further medical tests.  BTW, I actually found out about your company from a returned Peace Corp member who was stationed there.

Now that I've got you freaked out about traveling to rural Bolivia, I thought you might be interested in using some of this info.  I looked up many a night to see outside of my travel net the two-inch outline of these critters crawling around looking for a quick meal of my blood.  Unlike malaria and mosquitoes, there is no treatment and Deet repellent won't repel the insect, and the disease is often fatal even with the best of modern medicine.

Emphasize Chagas' on your disease list.  If people purchase your mosquito nets because they are traveling and/or working where this bug is endemic, it might save some them a lot of grief and perhaps their lives.

Dear President, Long Road,

Congratulations on having one of the best products I've seen in a long time. My wife and I have traveled the past year throughout Asia (14 countries) with your double size Travel Tent and cannot count the times we've gone to sleep saying,`Thank God for the tent'. It has been quick to set up, light to pack, and very dependable. We have even used it as an outdoor tent in remote regions of China where there were no rooms.

Dear Long Road,

I have used your Travel Tent for several years, and on three continents. Your tent has proven to be sturdy, light to pack, easy to put up, and effective in warding off insects. When I lead trips to other countries I advise my students to get one. Its low cost is very quickly repaid in restful sleep and a lack of disease.

Dear Long Road,

Bless you, bless you, bless you unto the 9th generation. Your Travel Tent is wonderful and I wanted to tell you how much easier and comfortable it has made my round-the-world trip. I don't worry about mosquitoes, flea-infested furniture, 6 inch spiders, cockroaches, flies, bedbugs, or any other species of insect life I've encountered. I couldn't have gone a lot of places without it.

Long Road Travel Supplies:

I traveled around South America for 6 months with your Skeeter Defeater - it was great! I found it easy to assemble (after the first week, I could do it in the dark) and easy to carry - even in my small pack.

Thanks!
